Working as a project manager for Small Victories, I created and curated an event called The Met Gala, which celebrated creative expression through unique fashion and musical talent. The event sold over 450 tickets, with 350 attendees. This gave me experience within marketing strategies, event planning, and coordinating live entertainment events. The event was hosted on December 10th, 2022. The theme of the event was Camp: Notes on Fashion, so I designed my own outfit that took inspiration from the painting The Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh.
I utilized mirrored acrylic and a laser cutter to make the star top and used chains to properly secure the clothing. Additionally, I hemmed the blue shorts to make them fit properly and added a silver-metallic fabric wrapped in chains to a pair of boots to complete the look.
Planning the event and simultaneously designing my own outfit to match the theme of the event helped flesh out my creative planning skills for apparel design and event planning.
